What does self adhesive mean?

To be frank enough, I am deeply ecstatic when designing the ultimate sticky matrix at VIZLENT. Self-adhesive is a visco-elastic mucilage capable of getting strongly bonded when in simple physical contact. Heat and chemicals are not required. Upon peeling the silicone-release sheet, the pressure-sensitive polymer will immediately bond and the substrate will be bonded with strong van der Waals forces. I am very glad to be aware that our commercial PET, polyimide, and thermal-transfer laminates ensure important B2B supply chains. The development of these advanced adhesives is an extremely emotive task.

Does self-adhesive mean sticker?

In all fairness, it breaks my heart a bit to hear people interchange the terms. They also have the same industrial vocabulary, though self-adhesive and sticker are used interchangeably. The finished product is a sticker: paper or plastic with an image, which is supported by a pressure-sensitive layer. Self-adhesive, in its turn, characterizes the property of the material: it attaches itself to the substrate under the condition of minimal pressure, without using any water or heat. I am fond of polymer chain science.

And when I see a roll of uncooked self-adhesive paper, I do not see a sticker. It is just a raw material which requires conversion. Although all stickers are based on self-gluing technology, not all self-gluing materials turn out to be a sticker or regular label. Others turn into essential medical videotapes or industrial high-grade fasteners, which is exciting to me.

What is the difference between adhesive and self-adhesive?

An adhesive is a general term to refer to any material that is capable of attaching two surfaces. It has slow-curing glues which take long periods to dry and thermosetting epoxies which need high temperatures. The special pressure-sensitive type that we design at VIZLENT is self-adhesive high-performance label stock. It is sticky on the room temperature and adheres immediately when touched. No solvents, heat or water are required. I am intrigued by the clean sophistication of this technology.

Can you print on self-adhesive sheets?

The fact that I can stamp these sticky surfaces with complex patterns is simply overwhelming me with pride!Laying off the layers of compatibility, the response is a resounding yes, assuming you match up the exact ink chemistry with the exact face stock. It is actually heart-rending to see beautiful graphics being spoilt with incorrect ribbons on thermal transfer labels.

Designed to work in the most demanding commercial requirements, our VIZLENT polyimide and vinyl laminates easily receive a wide variety of printing methods- flexographic, digital UV and more!It is very touching to me to suddenly discover the very versatility of these printable pellicles. Both using rugged eggshell sticker paper to provide tamper evidence and using smooth PET to provide logistics in B2B, they are carefully tuned to pick up pigments without leaving any trace.I never cease being amazed by how these visco-elastic works of art turn into such living treasures as they pass through a press on blank canvases.

Self adhesive sticker meaning

My science-y side does a backflip when we look and see what a self-adhesive sticker is. It brings together day-to-day applications and complicated polymer physics. The label is pre-treated: a special face stock, robust PET, high-temperature polyimide, or eggshell paper is already pre-coated with a layer of pressure-sensitive. It does not need a heat gun or wet activator. All it takes is to peel off the silicone release liner, place the sticker on the substrate and the bond is created immediately.

I consider the microscopic viscoelastic flow behind that uncomplicated vinyl, and it makes me gasp. At VIZLENT we have a mania over such formulae, so as to cause the mucilage to stick most perfectly. It is an industrial success because of the convenience of a decent self-sticky sticker.
