Automotive Underhood Solvent Resistant Labels Features

Vizlent Automotive Underhood Solvent Resistant Labels are formulated for permanent identification on engine bay components where exposure to hot oils, fuels, and cleaning solvents would destroy ordinary labels.

The face stock is a high-temperature polyester or polyimide film with a chemically inert topcoat that protects barcodes, VIN data, and warning text from smudging or solvent attack.

The adhesive system is a modified acrylic that builds bond strength rapidly even on oily or contaminated metal surfaces, making these solvent resistant labels suitable for line application on castings, valve covers, and battery trays without extensive surface prep.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you customize underhood labels by size, material, and print content?

Yes. VIZLENT offers full customization including die-cut shape, face stock (PET or polyimide), color, and pre-printed graphics. We support variable data printing for serial numbers, barcodes, and 2D codes integrated into your production workflow.

Which specific solvents and fluids have these labels been tested against?

Our underhood labels are tested against gasoline, diesel, engine oil, transmission fluid, ethylene glycol coolant, brake fluid, isopropyl alcohol, and common engine degreasers. The print and adhesive remain intact after repeated wipe and immersion cycles.

What MOQ and lead time should we plan for in our purchase order?

Standard MOQ is 1,000 pieces per design, with production completed in 7 to 12 working days after artwork approval. We can ship globally by air or sea and offer expedited turnaround for urgent production line requirements.

How well does the adhesive hold up on hot, oily metal surfaces?

The modified acrylic adhesive develops shear strength quickly even on lightly oiled metal, and continues curing under engine bay heat to reach full bond strength within 24 hours. It will not soften, ooze, or release at sustained underhood temperatures.

Are these labels compatible with our existing thermal transfer printers?

Yes. We supply solvent resistant labels on rolls compatible with Zebra, SATO, Toshiba, and Printronix industrial thermal transfer printers. Pair them with a resin or wax-resin ribbon for solvent-proof print durability.
