Fire Retardant Labeling Features

Fire Retardant Labeling from Vizlent is engineered for electrical, electronic, and industrial assets where unintended ignition must be prevented.

The labels use UL 94 V-0 rated polymer face stocks that self-extinguish within seconds when removed from a flame source, dripping only non-igniting particles.

This behavior is achieved through halogenated or phosphorus-based flame retardant additives compounded directly into the film during extrusion.

Combined with a high-temperature permanent acrylic adhesive, our fire retardant labeling maintains legibility and adhesion across the service life of cabinets, wire harnesses, transformers, and control units. Variable data, barcodes, and serialization can be printed using standard thermal transfer ribbons.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can VIZLENT customize the size, material, and adhesive for our fire retardant labeling?

Yes. We offer fully custom sizes, die-cut shapes, and face stock choices including PET, polyimide, and flame-retardant vinyl. The adhesive can be specified as standard permanent, high-temperature, or low-surface-energy depending on the substrate and operating environment.

What flame rating do these labels achieve, and how quickly do they self-extinguish?

Our standard fire retardant labeling carries a UL 94 V-0 rating, meaning that after a controlled flame exposure the material self-extinguishes within a short interval and any drips are non-igniting. We can supply UL file references and manufacturer test reports during qualification on request.

What are the MOQ and lead time for wholesale fire retardant label orders?

The standard MOQ is 1,000 pieces per SKU, and production lead time is typically 7–12 working days after artwork approval. For repeat customers we can hold material in stock against rolling forecasts to shorten lead time on subsequent orders.

How well does the label resist solvents, oils, and abrasion in industrial environments?

Solvent and abrasion resistance is critical for industrial nameplate applications. VIZLENT pairs durable polymer face stocks with a permanent acrylic adhesive, so the labels withstand routine exposure to mineral oils, IPA, mild alkaline cleaners, and mechanical wear typical of switchgear and machinery surfaces.

Are the labels compatible with thermal transfer printers and barcode workflows?

Yes. Our face stocks are formulated to accept resin thermal transfer ribbons, producing sharp barcodes, QR codes, and serial numbers that resist smudging and chemical attack. We can also pre-print fixed graphics in offset or flexo and leave a dedicated zone for in-house variable printing.
