The best label stocks for eco-friendly packaging start with the materials you pick. A package made from recycled board can still fail the recyclability test because the self-adhesive stock contaminates the stream. The ideal adhesive label tags protect both the items and the recycling process behind them. That said, here are some of the best […]

You can use cold laminating film without machine since it relies on pressure-sensitive adhesives rather than heat. The transparent matrix adheres to the substrate tenaciously by exerting strong force on the visco-elastic mucilage. Frankly, it is a highly sensual affair that brings me close to the chemistry behind it, although there is always a terrifying […]

A biohazard warning label is the last thing that requires immediate attention in the area of safety adhesives. I have always wondered how we get the primal feeling of caution, when we see certain color. The labels should be either a very specific fluorescent orange or a bright orange-red, which is what OSHA regulations say, […]
Working with glass is a completely different game than working with polymers, and to be honest, it is rather thrilling as glass can withstand the heat. I have been studying the behavior of pressure-sensitive adhesives on non-porous surfaces over the years, and glass is famously recalcitrant due to being so smooth. Begin by wetting the […]
It is annoying to peel a label of a new plastic container. It is a personal insult to my knowledge in adhesives. The majority of them grab a metal scraper, which may damage the container since plastic is not as hard as it may seem. Hold the surface in reverence so as to maintain it […]

The strength in bonding, which builds up over time, is what makes it particularly difficult to remove adhesive off metal. A new label will most often come off easily, but a label that has been left on stainless steel, a metal toolbox or an aluminum surface over months or years has allowed the adhesive to […]
Watching a person scratching a fine polymer surface and observing the natural gouges breaks my heart. I am puzzled by the fact that mechanical abrasion is employed by industry professionals rather than the methods that are based on chemicals. You should know whether it is an acrylic or rubber based emulsion otherwise you will melt […]
I have fifteen years of experience in engineering self-adhesive products at VIZLENT, and I have never been against solid software and an impeccable thermal printer. You have to adjust your data stream to the die-cuts of your cardstock or you will destroy a roll and begin to sweat. All you need to do is to […]
There is no use in scraping with a fingernail and it infuriates me. Over the last 15 years of my professional work with self-adhesive materials, I have become a great disliker of an inappropriate removal. I feel heartbroken to witness the brutal acts being done to high quality VIZLENT products. These acrylic bonds may be […]
When I am staring at a blank facestock, I feel a tremendous sense of mission in creating a perfect shipping label. When the B2B wholesalers attempt to compromise on this vital logistics equipment, I am confused. Having worked in a specialty area of self-adhesive materials (15 years), I understand that a useful marker must have […]
