Laminating Film for Label Converters and Packaging Manufacturers
Laminating film is a protective and decorative overlaminate applied to printed label stock, flexible packaging, and folding carton surfaces to deliver scratch resistance, moisture barrier, optical enhancement, and structural reinforcement in a single converting pass.
Vizlent Label Materials Co., Ltd manufactures a full range of laminating films — including BOPP (biaxially oriented polypropylene), PET (polyester), and PVC-free soft-touch variants — at our 20,000 sqm factory in Shenzhen, Guangdong, supplying jumbo roll and slit roll formats to converters and brand owners across North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia.
Every reel shipped is accompanied by a Technical Data Sheet traceable to that specific production batch.

Laminating Film Applications Across Converting and End-Use Markets
Moisture ingress is the primary threat to printed label longevity on chilled and frozen products — condensation forms on the label surface within hours of refrigeration, causing ink smearing and substrate delamination in unprotected labels. A BOPP laminating film at 20–25 µm creates a continuous hydrophobic barrier across the print surface, with a water vapour transmission rate below 4 g/m²/24h at 38 °C/90% RH, keeping the printed image intact through the entire cold chain.
Cosmetic label converters face a dual requirement: premium visual finish that commands shelf presence, and chemical resistance to alcohol-based and oil-based formulations that contact the label surface during use. Soft-touch laminating film delivers a velvet matte finish with measured 60° gloss below 10 GU, which creates the tactile premium cue brand owners require without printing a spot coating.
Abrasion during transit — pallet wrap friction, case stacking, and automated sortation conveyor contact — removes surface print from unprotected thermal-transfer and direct-thermal labels in distribution environments. A PET laminating film at 36–40 µm raises the Taber abrasion resistance of the label surface by a factor of four compared to unlaminated thermal paper, maintaining barcode scan rates above the GS1 threshold of 90% first-read accuracy even after 500 rubs under a 1 kg load.
Regulated pharmaceutical labels must remain legible and tamper-evident throughout the product shelf life, which can exceed two years in humid tropical markets. A PET laminating film with a UV-stabilised adhesive prevents photodegradation of ink pigments under UVA exposure, maintaining colour delta-E below 3.0 (the threshold for perceptible colour shift under ISO 11664-4) across 500 hours of accelerated UV testing equivalent to 18 months of ambient exposure.
Supply Formats and Ordering Information for Laminating Film Stock
Vizlent supplies laminating film in three formats to match each stage of a converter’s inventory and production model.
Jumbo rolls — typically 1,000 to 1,600 mm wide and up to 6,000 linear metres per reel — are the standard supply format for high-volume lamination lines running continuous production.
Slit rolls are produced from jumbo parent reels on our servo-driven slitting lines to the converter’s specified width and core size, slit to ±0.2 mm tolerance, and are appropriate for narrow-web presses and lower-volume speciality runs.
Custom-cut sheets in A4, A3, or bespoke dimensions are available for sample programmes, new product development, and short-run digital label workflows.
Why Sourcing Laminating Film Direct from Vizlent Reduces Risk
Trading companies representing multiple principals cannot customise a film formula or commission an adhesive reformulation — their role ends at the stock catalogue.
Vizlent has operated as a direct manufacturer since 2011 with in-house R&D engineers who can modify adhesive coat weight, alter surface treatment chemistry, or adjust core winding tension specifications to match a converter’s specific laminating line or end-application requirement.
That capability sits inside the same 20,000 sqm factory that ships the production order, which means a formulation agreed at sample stage is the formulation that scales to jumbo roll production without intermediary translation errors.

Frequently Asked Questions
Vizlent’s BOPP thermal laminating film is rated to 120 °C continuous service. Standard retort cycles run at 121 °C for 15–30 minutes — enquire about our PET-based grades rated to 135 °C for full retort compliance.
Specify a polyurethane-coated soft-touch or matte laminating film with a solvent-based acrylic adhesive. Water-based adhesives can blush on PE surfaces at elevated humidity; solvent-acrylic bonds maintain adhesion above 4 N/25 mm through oil exposure.
Yes. Slit rolls are wound to consistent tension and produce splice-free running up to 120 m/min on standard flexo laminating units. Core ID is supplied to your specified 3″ or 6″ diameter.
MOQ varies by grade and format — contact the export team with your specification for a direct MOQ and price indication. Free samples as A4 sheets or sample rolls are dispatched for qualification testing before any order is placed.
EU Regulation 10/2011 compliance depends on the specific film grade and adhesive system. SGS and TUV certification documentation is available; share your end-use application and target regulation so we can confirm the appropriate tested grade.
